Condolence: We were so sorry to hear of the passing of "Judge Budge" - as Geoff's roommates at Queen's we loved fielding calls from Geoff's dad as he would engage us in a thorough discussion around what classes we were taking and how we were doing. We also loved hearing Geoff's stories about his dad and his family. Very sorry for your loss - you are in our thoughts.

Condolence: My condolences to the entire Budgell family. I appeared many times before Lloyd, usually representing clients funded by Legal Aid Ontario. He was a no nonsense judge who would often make strong suggestions to parties appearing before him as to how they should amend their lives to avoid future visits to his court. I enjoyed serving with him on the legal advisory committee of the Niagara Child Development Centre. He always had time to devote to making ‘the system’ better meet the multiple needs of families struggling with poverty and pathology.

Condolence: Mrs. Budgell, we were so deeply sorry to learn the tragic news of Judge Budgell's passing. He lived in our hearts as a piece of our own father.

We will remember him fondly for his thoughtful and genuine interest in our success at school and his sincere and warm presence. We loved hearing about the adventures had over the years on the basketball trips to San Antonio, then Phoenix and L.A., and in later years it was a pleasure to share a memorable visit with you both at Jack's Oyster House in Albany N.Y. Judge Budgell's compass pointed north and his presence in any situation brought comfort and leadership.

Please know that we hold space in our hearts for you and your family. Recognizing that this world has lost a truly great man, we cry with you, and send wishes for comfort and peace.
