WHITAKER, Louis Charles – January 20, 1932 – May 2, 2021
Peacefully on May 2, 2021 in his 90th year. Louis was a loving husband to Sheila Whitaker for 39 years. Dear father to Robert Whitaker, Larry Whitaker, Ronald Whitaker (Amy), Kenneth Whitaker and Dale Whitaker (Kathy) and stepfather to Cindy Claus (Robert), Tim Rodgers, Vivian Moskalyk (John) and Christine Pierce (Michael). Loving grandfather to Aaron Whitaker, Curtis Whitaker, Keaton Whitaker, Adam Whitaker, Rachael Whitaker, Ryan Whitaker, Reid Whitaker, Jeremy Whitaker, Bobbi Caddick (Douglas), Cayden Whitaker, Emily Reid (Rob), Jennifer Marinelli (Joe), Alanah Claus, Stephen Claus (Melissa), Kevin Pierce, Mackenzie Pierce, Shanyn Laplante (Jesse) and Cassandra Rodgers and great-grandfather to Niko Caddick, Jonathan, Caitlin and Ruby Reid, Marshall and Maddyn Claus, Caleb and Marci Laplante and Theo Marinelli. He will be missed by his sister Shirley Winstone (John) and brothers Gerry Whitaker (Linda) and David Whitaker (Paula), as well as many nieces and nephews. Louis was predeceased by his parents Louis Whitaker and Blanche Whitaker and his brother James Whitaker. Louis was employed by E.S. Fox from 1948 until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Welland Lions Club (65 years). Louis had many interests and hobbies including woodworking, gardening, harmonica and dancing and partying with his many friends in Ontario and Florida. A special thank you to the staff and palliative care teams at Royal Rose and LHIN. Your kindness was very much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Welland Lions Club, the Walker Family Cancer Centre or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland.
