Obituary for
Claire Kathleen Gabany (White)
Gabany, Claire Kathleen – a widespread emptiness is felt by the entire family of Claire Gabany as we announce her call to the Lord. On March 25, 2021, Claire made way to join her beloved husband of 72 years, Alexander Fredrick Gabany, her precious son Christopher, her parents Vera and Edward White and sister Peggy.
Claire was born in Quebec on November 20, 1925. She was an incredibly devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was greatly respected and admired by all that were blessed to know her. Claire is survived by her children, Connie (Rick) Ferguson, Pam (Gary) Vittie, Peter (Suzi) Gabany, Nathan (Claudia) Gabany, Becky (Miles) Kupila and her most “favourite songbird” Sandy. Her grandchildren, Scott (Lori), Kelly (Christopher), Erica (Lee), Tyler (AJ), Katie (Manny), Arwen, Owen, Phillip, Michael, Amanda, Natalia, Nicholas and Alyssa and great-grandchildren Samantha, Carter, Olivia, Hope, Emily, Bobby, Manno, Stella, Oliver and Madelyn.
Claire will also be missed by many members of the St. Kevin’s Parish, the Catholic Women’s League, the parish Choir and friends.
Claire was a remarkable lady, a woman of immeasurable strength, kind, giving and always there to listen when you needed her most. She enjoyed her commitment to her Parish and the Catholic Women’s League for more than 50 years, along with sewing, singing, listening to classical music, baking, caring for her flowers and most of all being surrounded by what she most held dear, her family.
