Obituary for Charles Joseph Omos
OMOS, Charles – passed away at the Welland Hospital on January 16, 2021, one day after his 90th birthday. Cathy Omos, his only living daughter, is heartbroken. She fought and supported her dads fight and did everything possible to make things better. Cathy was granted a compassionate visit by the hospital with her dad, but COVID-19 made it hard. She was not able to hold his hand.
On his birthday on January 15th a very kind angel (nurse) put her phone to her dad’s ear. Cathy wished him a happy birthday and told him how much she loved him and it was ok to go be with mom in peace. At 4 am Cathy got a call that her father had passed away. Cathy felt it was a blessing.
Stephanie was Charles’ only granddaughter who has lost her way. Son-in-law Paul Gillis was a rock for Charles who enjoyed his company and made him feel happy. Son-in-law Gilles Marion was always ready to help in every way. Mike, a devoted and true friend to Charles, will miss him greatly.
Charles is predeceased by his daughter Nancy Omos, son Joey Omos, brother Steve Omos and his beloved wife Jean Omos. Charles will be laid to rest with his wife at a later date. Due to COVID-19, there will only be a prayer said by the Father of Saints Peter and Paul Church when services resume. Arrangements entrusted to H.L.
