WILSON, Shirley Edith (nee Bateman) – Peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Wilson. Cherished mother of Rick (Candy). Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Clara Bateman. Shirley loved her family and her German Shepherd Damien and Dash Hound Spaniel mix Pal. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of laughter and horses as well as her outgoing personality. Shirley spent a lot of time volunteering both before and after retirement as well as being presented with her 65 year service pin from the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 Welland. After retirement from Spence & Haist Drug Store, Shirley and Cecil spent their time travelling extensively and didn’t miss much of the world but always as proud Canadians never forgot their roots. Friends are invited to visit at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, January 12th from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. Father Tom Vaughan will conduct the funeral service in the Cudney Chapel at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
