TAIT, Donald Martin - Peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Madolyn Tait (nee Elliott). Dear brother of Douglas Tait (Margaret) of New Brunswick and Robert Tait (Mabel) of St. Catharines. Cherished uncle of Linda Vurma , Susan Baltjes, Carol Smet, Susan Cook, Gail Smet, Stephen, Geoffrey, Randy, and Sandra Tait. Uncle Donald will be very sadly missed by many great nieces and nephews and cousins. Donald graduated from Radio College of Canada and operated Tait’s Radio Service in Welland until his retirement. He was an airplane modeller from a young age and later joined the Welland Model Flying Club. He was a founding member and past president of the Welland County Motorcycle Club, a member of the Sports Car Club of St. Catharines and twice competed and finished the Cross Canada Rally. Donald was also a pilot. His true passion was photography. He and Madolyn were long time members of the Welland Camera Club and travelled near and far always with cameras at the ready. He was an innovator, perfecting a method of 3-D slide photography and projection that amazed camera clubs and senior groups at the many shows he put on. Donald was a member of Central United Church. The family will receive friends at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Sunday, October 21st from 1:00– 4:00 p.m. A funeral service, conducted by Reverend Martha Lockwood, will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Monday, October 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Fonthill Cemetery.
